Happy Holidays with no Excesses

The fervor of the holidays is present in every corner of our homes, our jobs, and in the community where we live, we cannot deny that at some point we are all attracted by the euphoria and allegory that frame these holidays.

Undoubtedly, these days of reflection and being able to share with the family, help us to recover what really matters and it makes sense, which is to strengthen family ties and help those who need it most. It is also no secret that, among so many emotions and hustles, sometimes it is easy to lose control and direction, that is why we want to share some recommendations to have a Christmas season without so many excesses.

1. Make plans: If you are going to spend time with friends, family, co-workers, and others, always try to have a plan so that everything goes smoothly. The excesses not only have to do with alcohol, we also have to take care of the food we consume, the portions, the amount of sugars, sodium, among other things so that our body does not suffer sudden changes in routine.

2. If you are going to drink, do not drive: As we have mentioned in previous articles, alcohol in the body causes among other things, the loss of the notion of time and actions and is a reason why we are not able to make the best decisions, and when it comes to involving a vehicle, it is not the best plan, what we can do is choose a designated driver or simply call a taxi or any other alternative transportation service.

3. Hydrate: Remember that the body is made up of approximately 70% water, sometimes we have a misconception that hydration is only in times of heat, but the truth is that, in winter, although your body does not feel hot, it needs the same amount of fluids (two liters daily) to continue performing its functions on a regular basis.

4. Healthy fun: Fun is part of the celebration, but you always have to look for healthy ways to do it and avoid excesses. Don't let yourself be carried away by the moment and be aware of the decisions you make.

And you, what are your plans to celebrate these holidays? Whatever it is, do it safely and responsibly, do not lose control, and make healthy decisions, remember that these dates are to enjoy with family and with the people you love most. Happy Holidays!
